The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students wanting to seek admissions to the Under Graduate Medical, Dental and Engineering courses of the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka" COMEDK, has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2008-2009.

COMEDK Under Graduate Entrance Examination for the Academic year 2008 - 2009 will be held on Sunday the 4th May 2008.

KIND ATTENTION COMEDK UGET-2008 CANDIDATES

Medical Council of India and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India have not as yet approved admissions to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College for the academic year 2008-09.

As such COMEDK wishes to inform all candidates who have selected seats at the above college to participate in the second round of counseling and avail the seats available as per the merit in any of the other member colleges, if they wish.

However, if they wish to cancel their seats, they can do so, without any financial loss before the second round of counseling i.e., 12th August 2008.

Under-Graduate Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses Start Dates

M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. courses are scheduled to begin from 01/08/2008.
B.E. and B.Arch. courses are scheduled to begin from 01/09/2008.

Application Procedure

The process involves the following stages:

Note: Send the application in A4 size envelope only. Do not fold the application form

Ensure that the Demand Draft for Rs.650/-(Rupees six hundred fifty only) if you intend to appear for MBBS/BDS(PCB) or BE(PCM) and Rs.850/- (Rupees eight hundred fifty only) for MBBS/BDS and BE(PCMB), to be kept ready before filling up the Online Application form, as you will have to enter the DD details.
The Online application form has to be filled up properly and completely.
Take a print of the filled in Application form and Date of Birth Certificate/ Identity Proof.
The Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents mentioned below and mailed to COMEDK office.
Multiple application form filled and received from the same candidate will result in confusion and may cause for disqualification.
Multiple Demand Drafts if sent (Excess Amount) by the candidate will not be refunded.

Checklist of documents to accompany the completed Application Form:

Demand Draft for Rs.650/- for MBBS/BDS(PCB) or BE(PCM) and Rs.850/- for MBBS/BDS and BE(PCMB) drawn in favour of COMEDK-2008 payable at Bangalore (mention your name and application number on the back of Demand Draft)DD submitted will not be refunded.
COMEDK copy of Date of Birth Certificate/ Identity Proof in the prescribed form duly attested by the head of the institution last studied.
Additional recent passport size photograph similar to the one pasted on the application.(mention your name and application number on the back of photograph)

Non-refundable fee for taking COMEDK UGET-2008 and attending centralised counselling, if eligible, is Rs.650/- for MBBS/BDS(PCB) or BE(PCM) and Rs.850/- for MBBS/BDS and BE(PCMB). Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of COMEDK-2008, payable at Bangalore and should be enclosed with the application and all other relevant document after mentioning application number on the back of DD. (If DD is not enclosed the application will be rejected.)

The completed Application Form has to reach COMEDK office on or before Saturday the 10th April 2008 to the following address by post or courier.

Applicants are directed to go through the instructions carefully before filling the application forms.

Applicants are requested to send the filled-in application form at the earliest to avoid any delay. Please do not wait until the last date to send in your forms.

Note:
Please do note that the Photographs to be provided have to be identical, in Colour and clear, and should not be more than 6 months old. Application with smudged/tampered or hazy photograph will not be accepted. Any application received not adhering to these specifications is liable to be rejected without any clarifications and no refund would be made. The decision of the COMEDK Committee on this would be final and binding.

For all future correspondence with COMEDK UGET-2008, applicants need to quote their Application Number and TAT (Test Admission Ticket) Number (if applicable).

Note: Applications will not be received in person either in the COMEDK office or by any member institution.
