Eligibility Criteria for COMEDK 2008

MBBS /BDS:

Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject, must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the competitive entrance test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.

In respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST and Karnataka OBC, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination should not be less than 40% and also score not less than 40% in the Competitive Entrance Test, for admission to MBBS. However for BDS a minimum of 50% is mandatory for all candidates both in qualifying examination (PCB) and Competitive Entrance Test. (Reference: DCI Letter No. DE 14- 2004/1135 dated 05-May-2004). English as one of the language of study is compulsory.

B.E:

For General category students the minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as optional subjects in place of Chemistry, are eligible. English as one of the language of study is compulsory).

For SC, ST and Karnataka OBC students the aggregate marks in PCM should be not less than 40% in the qualifying examination, irrespective of marks secured in PCM subjects in the Competitive Entrance Test.

B. Arch

A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC/ST and Karnataka OBC Category candidates). Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture. COMEDK will not be conducting any competitive test separately for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course) as per existing rules.
