VTU Education Fair - 2002

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), to which all engineering colleges in the state are affiliated to, organised the VTU Trade Fair - 2002 to bring representatives of all the engineering colleges on a common platform. It was held to coincide with CET-2002 in Bangalore, will provide students an opportunity to interact with representatives of all the engineering colleges, clear their doubts and queries and also obtain first hand information regarding the colleges they are interested in.

The fair was held at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat on Kumara Krupa Road in Bangalore, between May 8 and 12. It got a tremendous response from students from Karnataka as well as those who had come from outside the state.

73 engineering colleges from all over the state had put up their stalls, and students got to ask a variety of questions, starting from locations of the colleges, branches available, cut-off ranks for each branch, campus placements in the colleges, etc. There were quite a few questions about Bio-Technology branch, and about management quota seats too. Electronics and Communications by far seemed to be the most sought after branch this year too, with 9 out of 10 students mentioning it as the branch they sought to do their engineering in.
