The CET 2010 brochure-cum-application will reach the schools and colleges concerned after March 15. Candidates will have time up to March 26 to submit the filled-in applications.
The principals of these institutions have been instructed to submit the application forms to the KEA by speed post on or before March 29. Last year, the process was completed by February 28.
The KEA has received demand drafts from 1.1 lakh candidates seeking application forms but is yet to receive application forms from about 250 colleges. Of the requests received so far for the application forms, 4,700 are from outside the State, said KEA officials.
The despatch of brochure-cum-application forms was delayed as the KEA was awaiting details of fee structure and seat matrix from the State government.
However, the brochures are being despatched without details about the number of seats available in each engineering and medical college. It has been stated that the number of seats to be offered for allotment as government seats - college-wise, category-wise and course-wise - cannot be determined at this stage.
The brochure provides the fee structure for engineering courses, but not that for medical, dental and Indian systems of medicine and homoeopathy courses. It will only become clear after the Government signs a memorandum of understanding with private college managements.
