A total of 54,436 engineering ranks and 17,334 medical ranks have been assigned to students who appeared for the Common Entrance Test (CET)-2007 for admissions to professional colleges this year. These students are now eligible to opt for government quota seats in engineering, medical and dental colleges during the seat selection process in the CET Cell in the order of merit.
The CET Cell also released separate rank lists for architecture and Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and Homoeopathy courses. A total of 40,931 ranks have been assigned in this stream and as many as 1,200 ayurveda, unani, homoeopathy, naturopathy and yoga seats are available for selection from the CET Cell. As many as 307 candidates have been declared eligible for architecture courses.
Announcing the results at a press conference, Higher Education Principal Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee said that seat selection process will commence at the CET Cell as per schedule from May 30. Seat selection process will commence from May 30 for special categories and from June 6 for regular candidates.
